Post any good stands you've owned or just bought that you recommend here.

One piece of advice I would like to pass on to new riders who plan on working on their bikes is to invest in a front stand that lifts from underneath the steering head, NOT the front forks/axle etc.
The reason for this is that it allows you to work on your forks or even remove them completely or just get accurate measurements for working out your suspension sag etc.

For sure, check Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up, Let Go, etc. I bought one off Craigslist several years ago(when people still used it) and one off of Let Go I think it was............it might take a bit, but just keep looking and good deals can still be found.......although rare and they go quick.........they will come

Yep, this is a great idea, and what I do and had done for years, works great...I even had a 2x4 with a wedge screwed to the top of it to allow me to slide it under the tire and walk it towards the bike while moving it up and into the right spot to slide the axle in, without having to hold it with one hand.
I want to say I let someone borrow it........or maybe the dog grabbed it, carried it off somewhere and chewed it up.

The garage is his domain, and he likes to pick up 2x4's and stuff and run off with it and go find a spot to lay out and chew on it...well gnaw on it, because he knows he is not suppose to really chew on anything, he leaves everything else alone, but since I occasionally give him sticks, logs, large tree branches, stumps or old 2x4 pieces to chew on, its kind of my fault............you should see him running around the yard with a 4 foot stick hanging out of his mouth, his head turned at a 45 degree angle so he can run with it and clear the ground........lol

Or his 2 smaller tree stumps he has kept around for years. they are about the size of a basketball, with some roots sticking out at all ends...makes it hard to grab in his mouth, he can barely hang onto it while he plays keep away with me......

Anyway....I may just make another one............. :)

Hi guys, Need some advice. I have a 2023 ninja 400 ABS. Really love it. I am shopping for a front stand. This is the one I am considering:

Questions:
1. does this one fit?
2. what kind of pin do I need from Pit Bull?
3. do I need to remove the horn for this to work?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes it will fit.
#37 pin required.
Get the removable arm as an option. You'll thank yourself later.

See below for the one I have. Fits perfect and very happy with it.
Remember too this stand will work with most bikes so it's a keeper for any bike you own.
Good luck. 🙏🤙

If you do have to relocate the horn that's easy too.
I did mine and moved it to the voltage regulator mounts with no issues. It's easy to do and take your time.
Fairings may have to be removed but that also offers good practice as you'll be removing them several times while ow ing the bike for various reasons.

Hoer if help is needed. 👍🤓

Thanks! Do you mind showing a couple of pictures re horn relocation if that's not too much trouble?

I had the same issue with my Pitbull stand - I feel somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one! I could not believe that the uprights on the stand were perfectly blocking the path that I needed for unhindered axle removal. Must be due to the specific dimensions of this model - I ended up using my other front stand that lifts from the bottom of the fork legs. At the risk of sounding dumb, am I missing something or what, since no one else has mentioned this?
