Ninja 500 motor in Ninja 400?

There should be no problems with this.
This is good information. There are some differences in the frame, I think. But I wasn't sure about the engine mount points. Normally you would have to twist the factory's arm to make such a tooling change. For example, you can put a 14R motor in a Gen1 14, even with the additional 4mm stroke it comes with.
 
As an alternative to having machine work done to mount the GSXR shock, another thread indicates that one can purchase the lower mount pivot from a 400 and use it on the 500. I haven't tried it yet, but should know later this week.

I've been wondering about this, because I plan to install preload adjusters/springs on the forks this winter and was looking for a reasonably priced upgrade to the rear shock.
