I'm terrified of not being able to find important parts for my 2018 N400 someday. Not knowing when things will get discontinued doesn't help. Should we be buying head gaskets? What else?
I believe the Department of Transportation requires vehicle manufacturers to supply spare parts for a minimum of seven years for vehicles sold in the US (the length of time may have changed, so someone please correct me if it is different now). In the case of our 400's, most of the parts are identical from year one to the present (with the obvious exception of painted body parts). So if you have a rare paint scheme like the 2018 Pearl Solar Yellow, these are the sort of parts that will run out first. Mechanical parts availability should not be a problem for many years to come, most likely a long time after you've run your bike into the ground.

58 years later, the only part I know of that is unavailable for my 1965 Honda CB77 is the primary chain. Duckman got it right when he said, "gasoline". If you were planning to ride it after the EMP zombie apocalypse, you probably, already, picked the wrong bike.

Yeah I wouldn’t worry about parts being discontinued for the n400. You can still find parts for the n300 with no problem. The n300 is still being sold over seas. Even the n250 is still sold overseas, not even gonna mention that AMERICA didn’t get the 4cyl 250. Nope we ain’t gonna talk about that.

When My granddad needed a 3rd gear cog in his zrx12r he went to local dealer to find out how many were left in world the dealer phoned Kawasaki uk as they new exactly how many left in world . last 1 on the planet was in Russia so that’s were it came from .I’m sure Kawasaki still make parts for older models for 5-10 years. Don’t quote me on that .

10 years from last production date. With the 2018 - 2023 all having pretty interchangeable parts, you're fine and shouldn't worry.

Yeah finding parts should not be a major issue, or might take some work, but right like one said the cost of said parts once they do become scarce.
I would think this should not become a problem for a long time.
It will go through the stage of the parts being dirt cheap. So once wheels get to sub $100 prices and people about giving them away will be many years before, a decade or 2 before they start becoming harder to find and the prices going back up.

I have ordered parts for older more rare bikes from places that buy up dealerships new old stock like https://www.cmsnl.com/

By law, Kawasaki is required to keep manufacturing parts for 10 years after they stop production of the bike. That's going to be a while. Look at the number of Ninja 250s they sold. I can still get/supply parts for a 1989 Honda VFR400RR. I wouldn't worry.

Someone wrote "Gasoline", and that is truly going to be your biggest concern.
