Lots of track day prep last few days in preparation for MSRH this weekend...
  • Rain light (cheap amazon switch and light)
  • Removed kickstand (and kill switch delete..norton adapter)
  • Removed passenger footrests
  • Removed charcoal (kawasaki brad delete)
  • Removed mirrors and license plate holder
  • Probolt titanium bits for safety wiring (tried drilling holes in existing bolts...but sucked at it)
  • Safety wiring, safety wiring, safety wiring
  • Dunlop Q5s (mounted myself)
  • Brake and clutch lever guards
  • GB engine guards and fin
  • Woodcraft axle slides
  • Motion pro coolant reservoir
  • Oil change
  • Coolant flush (put water wetter in...then the temp dropped, so added some antifreeze back)
  • Steering damper (ohlins and graves kit)...tried spears damper and busted it immediately as I didn't know how important steering stops are.
  • Steering stop (Norton non db holders version)
  • Taped up the shiny bits
Man this gets expensive fast...and it's not any faster than it was (not that I'm good enough at the track for it to matter). I do love bolting things on bikes though:)

Didn't need all of this for a ridesmart track day....but hope to work up to a CMRA Race this year.

Was last night...

  1. Replaced Oil pump gear
  2. Replaced OEM clutch with Barnett OEM beefier clutch pack
  3. Installed HD clutch springs
  4. Installed Spears shift kit
  5. Installed Evolution Technology radiator guard
  6. Assembled and installed Kawi OEM shift cowl
  7. Installed RG hanger and blanking plate removing the passenger pegs/seat
  8. Installed new clutch cover and gasket
  9. Applied new liquid gasket maker
  10. Adjusted clutch adjustments
Took out on the road today and she feels GOOD.

Waiting on the relay kit for the auxiliary 12V accessory so I can run my second wideband kit in cylinder 2. Have to make a daisy chain harness to run both data loggers. Will then do some extensive data logging of both cylinders along with dragg data.

Will then fit the Norton Ram Air and V Stack kit. Repeat the process and see how the fueling is impacted.

Then by the end of the week hopefully install my TST Industries care package and enjoy Sunday riding and dialing in the tune by cylinder for all the recent changes.
Got all my work done and took the bike out today for a precheck before I put it through the paces hard tomorrow for the day. Got the TST integrated tail, fender eliminator, Nexus side markers, mirror block offs, Zero Gravity Marc 1 screen, double wideband install so I can now monitor and data log individual cylinder AFR and combined AFR. Just need to clean her up, clean and check the chain tomorrow then I'm off for a few hours drive out to Tortilla Flats tomorrow. Checking initial data logs, quite a huge change from Norton stacks and Norton Ram Air install. Will be good to get more data and compensate for at speed.

Double checked launch control after the clutch upgrades - amazing. Will be using a dragy on tomorrow's ride.

Ordered CRG bar end mirrors and adapter overnighted because not having rear view mirrors kills me haha. Won't be here till Tues/Wed but that's cool.

Also did the double row LED conversion swap on the Z125, installed. Don't like the flush mount turn signals I have so ordered some new ones for it as well. Aligned the low and high beams because the original positions I would've been flashed nonstop! Cleaned and oiled my OTB VIP intake filter and cleared out my Bazzaz map to start from square one on that bike.

Sold it. 😕 New owner can't ride yet so she got left in a storage unit for now. Moving up to the 650, want something a bit bigger and a little more power. Was a fun 6 months learning to ride and this place has been amazing. Wish there was a good 650 forum out there like this place. Will definitely check in once in a while I'm sure.

I went for a commute to SF today. A wicked tempest windy nutty day. While parked on the street my N400 got wind whipped, wind slapped, and down right wind pummeled. Knocked it over into another. Tank got almost punctured, Givi rack bent bad, Fairing poked, and generally WWF body slammed.

All checked out functional, away I went. Then I was attacked on the highway by what looked like an errant piece of truck bumper moulding about 4 feet long and 4 inches wide. All the way from the other side I watched it whip around, twirl, flip, and flap like a drunken pelican. It flapped in and around a couple other cars as it crossed the highway right for me. It had no rhythm. No way to tell what or where it was going to go. So steady ahead… and it chose to lodge perfectly even right into the space above my front fender and into the fairing. It became a wing. Not the friendly motogp type for stability and performance. Nooooo sir. It kept flapping. So as quickly as possible off to the right side. As I came to a stop it launched forward down the road. Still. Dead. My head on had taken the life out of the drunken pelican piece of plastic. It lay on the side with other car debris from stories past.

And about $2,600 in parts from the two events later, I think I am liking my deductible.

So, I gave my N400 some universal entropy cosmetics. Off to the surgeon!

Super happy I had my full Aerostich R3 on. Even though nothing hit me. Piece of mind.

Broke her out of her hybernation early due to an 80* day here. At 03:30 it was a tad cold but the ride home was amazing. As for the bike.....15w fork oil rocks. gsxr rear shock rocks. The road 6 tires....rock....like really really good. (still breaking them in obviously). The Barnett clutch grabs hard... the removed smaller inlet snorkels makes the bike sound like a hog when downshifting. The valve adjustments i really dont notice. The steering head bearings....also dont notice. All in all the winter maintenance and mods were a hit. 10/10 would do again and recommend. Look good Last long time.

Amen to the road 6! Love those tires! Got my Corbin seat on as well. Feels like a leather couch!
Barnett clutch springs in the mail. Excited to feel the difference with the snappier clutch.

Went out to the garage today and found that my wheel weights fell off. The tech at CycleGear probably didnt care to properly clean with alcohol when applying the weights.

Fortunately had some new weights so rebalanced myself with the trusty static balancer. Added some duct tape so they're not coming off this time.
