The vibrations have been noted by a lot of early owners, and I believe most are assuming they will decrease with time spent on the bike. Also I'm loving these modification posts Pat! Keep em coming.

This is bothersome to hear, I'm not a fan of vibration. I remember being disappointed when I first rode my CBR300 and it had more vibes than the 250 previous.

I would say that once you get to 1000K's on the clock then that's your lot, it probably wont improve any more.
@emudshit Did you change your bars and no longer have the vibration dampeners in them?
Okay Update on the vibration issue on the Handle bars "also thank you to whom ever made this a separate channel" the issue is a lot stronger than the 300 but does slightly settle over time but not even close to where the 300 is. I found what really caused most of the problem was swapping my stock bar ends to the puig shorty bar ends "no wonder stock bar ends weigh almost 0.5kgs" so what I have done is i have ordered some pro gripps a long with some handle bar ant vibration covers to see how much that will fix the issue as getting rid of the super sexy puig bar ends is not a option though even the stock bar ends still have wayyy to much vibration for my liking when going anything over 4.5k rpm. Will post update when I receive bar covers which should be in a couple days.

Yeh the stock bar ends have a weight inside of them the removes some of the vibrations so putting these really light weight puig bar ends on only made the problem worse though even with stock the vibrations are very buzzy at 4.5k rpm and up, its very strange because at anything lower there is not even the slightest bit of vibration. a few others have told me to get the grip pro or just get handle bar covers to remove the vibration so thats what i did, just a waiting game now .

You can purchase a heavier set of bar ends. I did this for my GS500, and my SV650S when I had after market clip ons installed. They sure make a big difference.

As an aside the clip ons on the N400 are not as solidly mounted as the bars on the N300. I prefer the N400 clip ons comfort wise, and haven't noticed any excess vibration yet.
Vibration?

I would like to know how bad the vibration is on a stock bike. I have read where people have swapped parts out and now are saying how bad the vibration is. I would also like to know how comfortable the stock seat is after about 1.000 miles for it to break in?

its the smoothest bike I have ridden on when under 5k rpm anything over get a fair bit buzzy but im not even at 600km so it should improve. heavier bar end and maybe some better grips should mostly get rid of any vibration issues on top.

I'm still sitting on 49km. Rather frustrating having to wait until my test in 2 weeks and needing someone to ride with me lol.

I would but i think 3 years of riding is not enough to be able to ride with a learner ?

That's cool, I have people able to ride with me, it's just my shift work and motorcycle lessons are getting in the way. I've organised a ride for next weekend as I'm back to work tomorrow and the weekend with more lessons on my days off next week

See my install here for an explanation of why this happens. With the stock bar ends and stock grips, I did not experience and bad vibration, but the stock grips are crappy. I swapped to Puig bar ends and Pro Grip 719 grips and it has ridden great. The extra rubber on the grips damps out the higher frequency vibrations caused by installing the lighter Puig bar ends.

Are they a bigger outside diameter though those grips?
Just asking cos I got small hands.

Not significantly, I couldn't really notice a difference. OD might be larger by a few mm, but I don't think it would be a problem. My wife has REALLY small hands and she likes them :)

Vibrations can make long rides painful and numb the hands. Would bar end weights help reduce some of that?

It sounds like the standard bars have quite hefty vibration dampers inside them already.

stock bar ends are around 0.4kgs
Is that enough to make a difference or would we need even heavier bar ends?
Has anyone on here already replaced the stock bars? I know Pat opted to replace the bar ends. Seems to be quite a lot of complaints around this vibration issue, and I'm curious what everyone plans on doing to improve it.
