Hi, hopefully this is the right place to post this.
The freeplay on my brand new 2024 Ninja 500 has gotten pretty loose.
Even with the adjuster that's at the top next to my throttle fully unscrewed my freeplay is still a good 4-5mm and I am trying to get it down to 1-2mm. So I did some research and found the second more hidden throttle adjuster next to my tank behind the fairings but I have absolutely no idea how I am supposed to actually adjust it, and I can't find any topics of someone explaining it or a video showing it.
My first problem is its in such an annoying spot that its practically impossible to get anything in there to adjust it. My second problem is there seems to be a paperclip type piece around what appears to be the barrel adjuster and the only way I can get that off is if I bend and possibly break it off, so is it necessary? Lastly does it matter which one I adjust? Top or bottom?
This is my first bike and I am not a mechanically inclined person so if anyone can walk me through how to adjust this thing I will greatly appreciate it, as well as any tips to make this process easier. Thanks
