Well hi there! :smile_big:

Coming out of Stockholm, Sweden. After a long consideration I'll pick up a 400 during the week (instead of a RC 390 due to blown head gaskets, valve clearance problems, stalling etc.).

Also, besides down sizing, this will be my first bike from Japan (Thailand ). Past history contains KTM 990 SD, Ducati 848, BMW R Nine T, BMW S1000R, Aprilia RSV1000R Factory, Aprilia Tuono Factory and some Husky (before KTM) cross bikes.

I mainly, since a few years back, ride track (Aprilia are the best bikes I've tried, all categories hands down - telepathic handling). The main target for my 400 is to build a pure race bread track bike.

If you have any questions let me know, I'll start a thread where I post my progress, choice of mods etc.

All the best! :nerd:

Welcome Apis
Wow, that's quite an assortment of exotic sports bikes you've had there. I've always liked the look of the Aprilias myself but have only ridden a 2003 Mille that a friend had. A real torque monster! Nice to hear that you rate them highly.

Look forward to hearing about your track bike build.

Welcome to the forum, make sure you do a write up on your track bike transformation, we have racers section for you to post everything that you want to share. Many of us will be racing the mighty 400.
Welcome Apis and all the best for you.

I'm sure you already know what you want and which way to go, but as impression let me link you to a picture which shows a professional tuned cylinder head from a twin (ER6, from 72 hp to 110 hp, all @crank) http://www.abp-racing.de/s/cc_images/teaserbox_37253480.jpg?t=1415900544
Real engine tuning starts at the cylinder head and ends with ECU remapping.
Can't wait to read the articles! Welcome!
Wow! The response is just utterly magnificent - thank you for all the kind words :smile_big:!

A thread on the build is coming, I plan to pick the bike up tomorrow or wednesday, already have a few items inbound .

Welcome to the forum Apis, and congrats on the 400! Looking forward to following your build and modification plans. Did not anticipate there being so many track focused owners on here.
Welcome to the forum and look forward to your build and Dyno information ?
