I'd like to know this as well. I'm also curious about the air filter.

Ahh, good 'ol 6017 and 7317. Watch for the convex / concave thing though.

Picked up a couple oil filters from our Kawi dealer....part # 16097-0008...not same as 300...don't recall that #.

Thanks for supplying the part #, I was wondering what it was.

This is the same part # as the Ninja 300, 650, 1000, ZX-6 and a whole raft of other Kwakas.

16097-0004 is a discontinued Kawasaki part. 16097-0008 replaces it.

Well, according to every parts website I've seen, THIS this the OEM part# for the Oil Filter: 49065-0048 NOT: 16097-0008
If someone can clarify that, it would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Watched a video of a guy doing an oil change on a 2018 Ninja 400, and you could see the original filter that came off the bike was obviously the one that came with the bike from the factory, and THAT filter was part# 16097-0552.

16097-0004 - made in Japan, useful for cross-reference purposes
16097-0008 - made in China, commonly available
16097-0552 - made in Thailand, comes on the bike
