I saw some press for this new race class in NZ bike rider magazine recently, great idea!
If I lived in the central North island area I would be down on that for sure.
I did wonder if the de-tuned LAMS versions of the MT-07, Ninja 650 and SV650 would be quickest but obviously not.

I see he has the stock can on there (minus the foot guard) so I wonder if the rules state no aftermarket pipes?
It is very production oriented to encourage anyone with a LAMS bike to participate.
You can change minor things only like handlebars and brake and clutch levers. Brake pads/lines can be upgraded and tyre types have a limited range that can be used. No tyre warmers, and one set per meet.

ECU must be stock, and the usual removal of lights/mirrors. @Kiwi Rider you'd like this -you can remove the radiator fan

Ha ha, that says something about our cool climate here eh!

That's a good idea banning tyre warmers. It just adds expense and clutter and the sound of portable generators running depending on the track facilities.
It looks like it should be a great class for NZ. having owned an (full power)SV650S previously I think the N400 would be a much easier bike to get the best out of. A lot lighter and more manageable. Well IMHO anyway.
