What’s up peeps, thought I would post up my 2023 Track and Race season events.
Already got the season opener in at Tbolt on 4/23. The weather was very good, pretty much full sunshine ☀ the entire day and a high of 70. It was a little damp from heavy rain Saturday nite. But dried up quickly!

2nd session of the day, 2nd lap, in the long left hand turn, this moron hits the inside of my left rear tire and WE both go sliding off the track. 😡😡😡😱😱😱. I was so glad I didn’t get run over by any of the bikes behind me. WE both slide across the entire track to the other side. Immediate RED FLAG 🚩, CRASH TRUCK ride back to the pits.
Happy to report, just cosmetic damage to the left side of the bike. Left bar end was ground down, as well as the engine case guard, shifter and foot peg. My face shield has rash as well. My left leg and right shoulder were a little sore, I sat out 1 session after re-teching the bike, and rode the rest of the day!!! Not a good way to start the season, BUT, I did enjoy the rest of the day.

I was having clutch issues with 400 since early last July and was only able to ride it a total of 3 sessions after July. Happy to report no more issues with the clutch. I changed the clutch pull rod and bearing and some plates over the winter and that FIXED the issue.
I brought my 750 as well just in case……..she sat in the pits the whole day!!! Felt soooooo good too ride the 400 on the track again 😁😁😁

Next up is NYST 5/6 or 5/7!!!!!

So what happens when morons like that crash someone else off the track? Im assuming you have to saddle up to pay for the damage yourself, but i really dont know.

You are likely paying for your bikes damage, you may get an apology.

If I did something stupid and caused someone else to go down, I would offer to pay for the damages. All I got was an apology, good thing I didn’t see that moron the rest of the day. IF I was coaching and saw someone do something stupid (blatant rule violation), that caused a crash………. I would tell that person to sit out a session. When I re-teched my bike after the crash, I mentioned that to the powers that be. THEY quickly changed the subject.

As the saying goes……Fresh paint attracts pavement!!! People do dumb ****, no need to be pushing 2nd lap of the 2nd session of the day on a track that was damp in spots. There were lots of RED FLAGS 🚩 in the morning sessions. The afternoon was much smoother. NJMP tends to attract the CRASH CREW on the weekends. No matter which org is there. During the week is totally differenT, much calmer. I have been going there since 2009 and that has been my experience.

For 2024, NJMP is adding new sections and FRESH PAVEMENT to Thunder, looking forward to trying it next season during the week! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Riding bikes on the track have associated risks that heavily deters me from doing it.
It is too exciting and fun to not take the risk, IMHO.
Someone doing something stupid will always likely happen.
Disclaimer: I may be or have been the stupid guy to others.
I haven't been called out as the jackwagon at this point.

One of the dumb moves I have made: I went around @misnblu on the outside of 3 at Jennings, got a little tight quickly.

Everybody went around me the first two days at Jennings. 😂🤦🏻

Third day I was much better and holding my own as I was getting a bit faster and staying away from any off road excursions like I did the first couple of days.

Yeah turn three into 4 was a full throttle to 2 gears downshift into 5 where I was still having problems with the correct line.
I can't wait to go back and I'll have a bit more seat time this time to be a bit more comfortable around the track. 👍

Had a blast at NYST on Sunday, the weather was perfect, high of 70 and FULL sunshine ☀ the whole day, no wind 💨 most of the time. Everyone behaved, no sketchy passes and NO RED FLAGS 🚩 the entire day in my group. Zero issues with the 400. I forgot how NYST makes you WORK, I was pretty tired by the end of the day.
Next up is 5/23 and 5/27 at NYST. 5/27 is ROOKIE DAY and I will be bringing 2 rookies. Both guys are pumped. One guy is young and a fast street rider on a 2003 750. The other guy is older on a 300 and has been riding for 2 years. They both will benefit from riding the track, the young guy already brought a full suit, gloves and boots. I know he will be hooked! I will be loaning the 300 rider some of my gear.

Yesterday was some fun riding, caught you out of 18 just before lunch :) I'm on the black/orange CBR600RR, trying to get my hands on a reasonably priced 400!

The 400 is super fun to ride at NYST, the big bikes blow by on the straights but the 400 reels them in with late braking at turn 1!!!! Awesome day of riding 😁😁😁

Had an absolute blast riding on Tues at NYST, the weather was perfect. Low 50s in the morning and warmed up to low 70s in the afternoon with FULL SUNSHINE ☀ the entire day. Very few crashes in all groups. I was coaching in the Novice group and did some hit laps in the intermediate. Next up is this sat 5/27 back at NYST, it is Rookie Day. So there will be 4 groups, Rookie, Intermediate, Advance & Expert. 15 minute sessions. I will probably ride the 750 since I haven’t ridden it on the track this season yet. I won’t be coaching. The weather is looking awesome. We are bringing 2 rookies, I am sure they will have a blast. One guy is on a 300 and the other is on a 750.
