So I know this has probably been discussed time and time again but I’m bringing it back up. I just bought my 400 and it’s time for the first service. I went to the dealer and they suggested using yamalube sae10w40, I guess they were out of Kawasaki brand. Is this a brand any of you would suggest using? Does brand really matter?

A big brand would surely give you peace of mind, but it doesn't really matter much. Yamalube is surely a very decent oil.
The most important thing to check is the viscosity and that it complies with the standards required by the maker.

Read the thread 'Which oil is best' and have fun. :)
