I have the black Ninja 400 and took the two rear 400 decals off. I never liked many decals it just looks cleaner to me. Anyway, its funny how everytime I made a stop someone asked if it was the new 600 lol.

I removed those and the abs ones on the fender. I agree, much cleaner look.

How did you get them off? I hate mine and really want to take them off. I think k it would make it look much cleaner without the 400 decals
Can you use a high dryer or heat gun or do the decals come off easily without any heat?

Mine came off easy without heat but a hair dryer will help. Used lighter fluid to get the left overs off and cleaned and waxed it.

Thanks for the info!

The grey/black/orange color scheme was the first unit the local Kawi dealer got in, so that's what I bought.

Was immediately unenthused about all the decals (too many distracting line and colors)... so just finished removing everything except the tank Ninja (which is under a clear coat) and the rim tapes (which are probably next to get axed).

Now the bike's body line are what attracts your eye...not the carnival ride stickies.

If course, only my opinion/tastes...to each their own.

Partial Decal-ectomy

I agree with @smallbored about the orange decals. They're way too much.

Here's a mock-up of removing some, but not all of them.

Do you have any pictures of the bike with decals fully removed? I've been contemplating doing the same thing.

Granted I'm months away from buying but when I saw the grey-black on the dealer showroom my first thought was those decals just give the bike a "busy" look. If you have the time I would like to see your final end result once you remove the rim tapes. As for your taste, I think your on to something good.
You probably already saw the graphic AZFox posted of a bike with most of the decals removed. If I had chosen to leave any decals on, it would have been the ones he left on also.

I came across this so decided to share. I have this bike and removed some decals also. Very similar but I left the bottom decals. Agree that the stock decals were too much. Happy with it but wondering if I should remove all of them down the road. They came off easily just need to remove them slowly.

Come on, You ain't gata lie to Skippy - you just dont want people to know its a 400, Nothin' to be ashamed of. Iv'e had tons of people ask if my ninja 250 is a 600...
Just poking some fun at ya man... I'm not a decal man myself but I dont mind the decals on the 400.

:surprise: do you still have them?

I was trying to get a few wrap/sticker companies to replicate them, but most turned me away and one said it will cost almost $2,000 for 12 little stickers.

I always liked the big designs on bikes of the 80's (Honda Fireblade, Petronas Yamaha etc) and I would have gone for the KRT 400 if only the green was pearlescent like how it looks on the website, and not a flat lime green.

i was thinking of taking some of the decals off too (the 400 for sure and couple others) and adding some of my own designs (but the reflective sticker bit). those wont be as thin as the decals but highly reflective stuff (on the side of the bike to make it visible during turns etc perhaps).

Ideology being it makes the bike visible during night. I am a bit worried about bike visibility in USA (paranoia I say) and hence the idea.
overthinking much?

the triangle ones in the attached pics is what i am planning to slap on the sides of my 400.

A friend suggested that if I was to get a black Ninja it would look sexier without the "400" & "Kawasaki" decals. Taking her advise I had the dealer remove them.

I think it came out quite nice.

Your helmet is a dark grey type of color which will not help your visibility. Do you ride with your headlights on?
I love my decals lol

I love the side decals, but I'm not a fan of the lime green. It looks good in photos with the yellow sheen, but I found it too flat IRL.

If it were the same price as black then I would have bought one. It's too bad that the decals that say "400" cost $400 and they don't come with the "Ninja" decal or the green/yellow stripes - those are extra on top.

I want those side decals so bad though.
