388 Views 15 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Z4002021
I use Motive products (try to support American made) for automotive break bleeders and power full systems but they dont make much for motorcycles.

any recommendations on a break bleeder kit for the 400?

Im a dummy

found this. Hope it helps others. Seems expensive but ill pay for easy, time saving peice of mind tools.

even the cheap ones are easy:
And get the brake bleeder valves for the caliper. They guarantee no backflow and make things so easy.

I just used a rubber/plastic hose to change and bleed the rear and front brake fluids with a plastic bottle at the end. Fortunately the the bleeder and rear caliper is on the same side, not so on my friends BMW. One question, what size open end wrench is the bleeder screw? I didn't have one and used a small cresent wrench.

On the 400 i have no idea yet. If i was to guess it would be 8mm

Just did it and the size was 7mm. That or my 8mm is oversized. I just used a 6mm and a dime to fill in the gap.

I do the same just not as eloquently as you. 😂
My bottle of choice is the lowly plastic water bottle. 😉

If I don’t use something heavy I’ll knock it over and make a mess. Every time! Brake fluid and I are mortal enemies! :)

I do like Duckman except for my Goldwing. Then I use a Motion Pro Micro bleeder because I can’t pump the lever and reach the screws at the same time without someone else to help me.

I've been using very similar one on my cars - works great 👍

I hear that. My KTM touring bike is like I can barely reach both. Just barely. But that still better than asking the old lady to help. :)
