So if want to increase your safety, here is the installation procedure for the Signal Dynamic's BackOff XP brake light strobe module.

I chose to go with Mode 2 of the strobe pattern and decided not to use the optional brake hazard feature.

I went with soldering the connections because I wanted a permanent solid circuit. Bullet connections are OK if you plan on removing or altering the module later on. I wouldn't recommend T-tap connections because they have the possibility of dislodging.

Detach brake light harness from main harness by undoing the clip. You must press a small tab in as you detach the harness. Then, carefully cut along the black sheathing, do not cut any of the wires inside.

Once sheath is removed, cut only the BLUE wire.

Remove this bolt using a Phillips #2 screwdriver. We will use this bolt to ground the black wire of the module.

Crimp a ring terminal to the black wire of the module. If you feel the black ground wire is too short, you can connect a jumper wire if you got any. You may add heat shrink tubing.

Here is the connection using Mode 2 pattern. Cover the connections with heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.

Mode 2: Blue wire connects to Red Wire/White Stripe. If you want Mode 1, connect the Blue Wire with the white wire/red stripe. Only choose one mode or the other. Cap off remaining unused wires with electrical tape.

Connect black ground wire to the frame using the bolt. Use tape or zip ties to secure the module.

Very timely! I was just planning to add the Backoff next month. Thanks for putting this together.
Welcome you are, my dude. I didn't add the hazard light feature because the module cannot make the 4 way indicators light up. It can only make the brake light flash.

Watcher is there a reason other than freedom of access to cut the shething, you can roll it back to expose the wireing.

Also for lack of tools wire nuts can be used.

Yes, easier access of wire. For convenience, wire nuts should be secured with tape.
